Oru murai vanthu::

This is probably the best Tamil song ever
composed for a Malayalam movie. A Haunting melody
from ever green classic movie Manichithrathazhu
(മണിചിത്രത്താഴ്) by M.G Radhakrishnan, originally
sung by Sujatha.

The movie used this song in 2 parts during
Dr. Sunny's nocturnal encounters with
Nagavalli's spirit. Since it was used in bits
and pieces as low volume background song,
this great song never got the recognition it
deserves (compared to other songs in the film)

Raagam : Aahari

Movie : Manichithrathazhu

Music : M.G. Radhakrishnan

Lyrics : Vali

Some of you might have thought that this is the
climax dance song "oru murai vanthu parthaya.."
from the same movie. It is in a totally different
raga by name KunthalaVaraali.
This is one of the rare songs where
a classical raga was used to effectively
convey moods of anger & frustration!
Not to disappoint you, here is that
song along with Shobana's amazing
dance movements & emoting(courtsey youtube):

Kishore, your song is good except for the popping sound which can be really irritating. i hope you can try and avoid that by placing a stretched sock or some similar material in front of the mic.

you picked up a classic which is not available anywhere for listening. Thanks to you for posting a song that was played just in the background and forgotten altogether! Keep up the good work :-)

Hi Manju,

Thanks for the comment. Its sad the this beautiful song has gone into oblivion.

Sorry for the pops! Will try to get a better mike...
